This aerial photo with ground photo inset illustrates how we can show the public the extent of post-development habitat change and plant communities such as this "Blackwater Stream" . This is especially impactful if people can see their own neighborhoods before they were developed. We are fortunate to have thousands of photographs archived with the Fort Lauderdale History Center  including many with location information along the New River and elsewhere. Funding would make it possible to create a countywide map with these old photos properly located and inset to give the public a vivid picture of what was once here.
